Badges & Logos

All clubs were required to apply a small competition sleeve patch depicting the Football League logo. This was the first time such insignia had featured.

The Scoreline kits remained largely unchained in their general design.

After the first game of the season, the hoop topped socks, (which had featured the previous season), were replaced with plain socks.

The Pergamon logo continued to appear with the larger version on the long-sleeved shirts and the smaller variation on the short-sleeved shirt.

The 1988 navy Umbro socks were again used for several matches.

For the final game of the season Oxford United wore plain red socks for the trip to Leicester City. It can only be assumed that the 2 year old red Scoreline socks had life expired by then.
