Change Colours

Oxford United last wore ‘all-black’ during the 2005 season. This particular design has grey/silver detailing, giving the kit a smart, understated look.

Primary Colours

The 2017 kit has an air of familiarity about it, as the shirt design is simply a colour reversal of the 2016 navy change shirt.

Some players, (Rothwell, Hall & Payne) have worn smaller shirts, which have a junior sized sponsors logo (see far left). This is because the adult sized Liontrust logo is too wide for smaller shirts due to the navy rib panels.

Personally, I am not a fan of the half-yellow/half-blue socks, the blue is a mismatched colour when compared to the rest of the kit.

Poppy Shirt

A poppy first appeared on an Oxford United shirt in 2010.  Until this year, every remembrance weekend had coincided with an away fixture with Oxford United always wearing change colours. Therefore, this year is the very first time a yellow ‘home’ shirt has featured a poppy.

Chairman Darryl Eales pre-bought all 18 shirts, with his money donated to the Royal British Legion. He plans to resell the shirts to collectors, with the second round of proceeds also being donated to the Royal British Legion.
