Badges & Logos

The league issued yet another variation of their competition sleeve patch.

Buildbase, a building supply company with their headquarters in Oxford began a 9 year period as Oxford United shirt sponsors.

This was an exciting time for Oxford United, with a new era beginning at the Kassam Stadium. Sadly performances on the field continued to decline, with United narrowly avoiding relegation for a consecutive year.

There was a new club badge, designed by Rob Alderman. It incorporated Desmond Morris’s Minoan Bull, but with a darker shield-shaped background, which contrasted well on yellow shirts.

The trend for baggy metallic shirts continued, although thankfully this version was a lot more yellow than the previous season's muddy affair!

There was a welcome return to yellow socks for the home kit, however, from February these were usually replaced with navy socks, even when playing at home.

Away Kit & Variations

An all-white change kit with yellow/blue piping was a popular addition. The clever use of the yellow/blue piping meant that there were many possible variations of colour combinations.

The white shirts enabled the sponsor's logo to be reproduced in the correct red and black colours of the company.
