This was an exciting time for Oxford United, with a new era beginning at the Kassam Stadium. Sadly performances on the field continued to decline, with United narrowly avoiding relegation for a consecutive year.
Oxford's new beginning at the Kassam Stadium saw a new kit supplier, TFG. Whilst a relatively new name, they had quickly made in-roads into the professional game, with Crystal Palace, Burnley and Bristol City also wearing TFG.
Buildbase, a building supply company with their headquarters in Oxford began a 9-year period as Oxford United shirt sponsor.
The league issued yet another variation of their competition sleeve patch..

There was a new club badge, designed by Rob Alderman. It incorporated Desmond Morris’s Minoan Bull, but with a darker shield-shaped background, which contrasted well on yellow shirts.
The trend for baggy metallic shirts continued, although thankfully this version was a lot more yellow than the previous season's muddy affair!
There was a welcome return to yellow socks for the home kit, however, from February these were usually replaced with navy socks, even when playing at home.

An all-white metallic change kit with yellow/blue piping was a popular addition. The use of the yellow/blue piping meant that there were many possible variations of colour combinations.
The white shirts enabled the sponsor's logo to be reproduced in the company's red and black colours.
